2007 Scottwood was the location of the 1883 home of Clarence Brown of Brown & Geddes.  His biography and photograph appeared in the Toledo & Lucas County Supplement on page 47.  Mr. Brown passed away in 1918.  His wife was Carrie (Luce) Brown.  Her mother boarded here according to the 1896 and 1900 city directories.  Their domestic was Ellen King in 1896, Mary Lawicka in 1900 and the 1910-1921directories listed Nellie King as the family domestic.  This circa-1903 mansion was designed by Norval Bacon and built at a cost of $4,200 replacing the fire-damaged original.
