The Lucas County Auditor listed the home at 2044 Robinwood as being built in 1900.  The 1910 Polk City Directory listed Charles Whinery of Maher & Grosh Cutery as the resident.  The live-in domestic that same year was Mary Krumel.  An alteration was made to the dining room (#1714) in 1911.  The mansion remained in the Whinery family until January of 1964.
