The home at 2210 Robinwood Avenue at Bancroft Street was constructed in 1901 for Alvin B. Tillinghast, a licorice tycoon. The mansion was sold to John North Willys, founder of the Willys-Overland Company, a car maufacturing plant. His biography can be read in Toledo & Lucas County Vol. 2 on page 18. In 1910 Cynthia Sherman served as the family cook while Edward James was the butler. The expansive front porch was enclosed in 1913. | |||||
