According to the Lucas County Auditor's records, the house at 720 Virginia was built in 1902.  In the 1910 Polk City Directory, Edwin Reed was listed as the resident of this home.  Bonnie Reed boarded there in 1910.  Edward Wiggins, a clerk, was listed as the occupant in the 1918 directory, while the 1921 directory listed J. H. Guething.
