The house at 848 Virginia was constructed in 1912 according to the Lucas County Auditor's records.  The 1918 Polk City Directory listed Harry Dennison as the resident.  Mr. Dennison was the secretary of the Toledo Laundry & Toilet Supply Company.  The 1921 directory listed George Gross of the Gross Electric Fixture Company.  The other unit was home to Charles Witker who lived here according to both the 1918 and the 1921 directories.  In 1918 Mr. Witker was a draftsman with the Baker Brothers, but by 1921 was a salesman with the E. H. Witker Company.
