Designed by the architectural firm headed by George Mills around 1897, the mansion at 2804 Collingood was home to James Hudson who sold mens' furnishings, hats and shoes from his storefront at 401 Summit.  Lillian Husdon boarded here then.  In 1900 Julia McConnell, the widow of Frederick McConnell, was a boarder.  The 1910-1912 directories listed Edgar Kellogg as the resident.  Mr Kellogg was a brigadier general with the United States Army. Lucy Kellogg, the widow of William Kellogg, boarded here in 1910.   Andrew Brymer, a teller with the Toledo Savings Bank & Trust Company, lived here later according to the 1918 Polk City Directory.
