The 1918 Polk City Directory listed soldier Joseph Brown as the resident of 2542 Collingwood.  Also listed as roomers were waiter Charles Brown, cook Leo Brown, bricklayer Charles Lennon.  According to the 1921 directory William Beckham of the Live Craft Theater lived here along with domestic Ella Young.
