The home of George Kelsey in 1891 was located at 2939 Collingwood, built circa 1874 at a cost of $7,000 by J. W. Kelsey and razed in 1906. The architect was Edward O. Fallis. According to the 1896 Polk directory, resident George Barnes was the president of the Union Supply and Hardware Company but by 1900, was listed as an oil producer. His wife was Alice. The 1896 directory listed Ernest Glauser as a florist for Mr. Barnes and lived in a house at the rear of the property. By 1900, George Boice was the gardener and Lucy Weigle,age 25, was the domestic.
