The 1896 Polk City Directory listed William Herbert, a clerk at the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad, as the resident of 634 Acklin Avenue. John Jackman of the Jackman Brothers lived here in 1900. Elmer Miller, the president of the Elmer Miller Coal Company lived here also according to the 1910 and 1918 city directories. Clara Albach was the live-in maid in 1910. By 1921, the renter of this house was Mrs. Lucy Rummel, the widow of Albert Rummel. The 1924 directory listed the residents as William Baker and his wife Jeanette Baker. Mr. Baker was the treasurer of Baker Brothers Incorporated. | |||||
