According to the 1910 and 1911 city directories, salesman William Peiter lived in this home at 536 Collins.  By the time of the publication of the 1918 directory, Hiram Smith lived here.  Mr. Smith was the vice-president of the Smith-Kirk Candy Company.  His biography appeared in Toledo & Lucas County Vol. 3 on page 148.  His wife was Margaret (Huker) Smith.  The 1921 and 1924 directories listed John McKinley, an engineer, as an occupant of this home.  His wife was Rose McKinley.
