Both the April 18 and 25, 1908 editions of the Toledo News Bee posted an advertisement by Getz & Townsend for the sale of the nine-room strictly modern house at 333 Melrose Avenue.  The property was located two blocks from three car lines, and in the Fulton school district.  The owner Latimer Thompson wanted it sold at a bargain.
