22 Proctor Place was constructed in 1916 according to the records at the Lucas County Auditor's Office.  Carl Speilman lived here in 1917 and 1918.  Mr. Speilman was the president of the Carl W. Speilman Company which sold real estate.  The 1920 Census listed Fred Kirtley, his wife Katherine and their children William and James Kirtley. The 1921 directory listed Fred Kirtley who was with Connally & Kirtley.  James Baumardner and his wife Thyra Baumgardner were residents in 1924.  He was with Baumgardner & Company which sold dry goods at 401-11 Jefferson at St. Clair.
