45 Proctor Place was built in 1911 according to the Lucas County Auditor's records.  John Heath, the manager of the Simmons Boot & Shoe Company, lived here according to the 1918, 1921 and 1924 city directories.  Hiw wife was Stella Heath. George Heath, a student, roomed here in 1918.  By 1924 George Heath and his father John went into business under the name of J. E. Heath Shoe Company located at 812 Central Avenue.  George continued to room at his parents' home.
