The 1918 and 1921 city directories listed the resident of 2838 Rockwood Place as Grover McMann.  Mr. McMann was the vice-president of the Dempsey-McMann Optical Company.  Wylie Bernthisel, a buyer with the LaSalle & Koch Company, along with his wife Geddes Bernthisel lived here in 1924.
