The Emery Hiett house at 2211 Parkwood is next to the Rummel House.It was constructed in 1889 for the sum of $6,000.   Mr. Hiett was an attorney and the secretary of Peoples Savings and Loan Building Company.  His biograph appeared in Toledo & Lucas County Vol. 2 on page 105.  Mary E. Hiett, the widow of John Hiett boarded with her son. The 1896 Polk City Directory listed Mary Nopper as a live-in domestic while the 1900 directory listed Mayselle Reid in that position.
