William Simmons, according to the 1900 city directory, lived at 2115 Collingwood along with his wife Mary (Young) Simmons and son Francis.  The elder Simmons' biography appeared in Toledo & Lucas County Vol. 3 on page 399 while young Francis' biography appeared in the same volume but on page 419.  Hezekiah Jay was the family's coachman in 1910 while Elizabeth Lyons was employed as the cook.  Mary Lyons was the live-in domestic in the 1921 city directory when Mrs. Simmons was a widow and young Francis Simmons had moved to 2271 Collingwood.
