F H Hoag commissioned Norval B Bacon to draw plans for a mansion to be located at 2146 Collingwood Avenue at Prescott in 1884. The price was set at $$6500. J H Tappan was selected as the builder. The 1888 Toledo City Directory listed the resident as George Washington Hart. Hart was the president of the Findlay Hydraulic Press Brick Company, His son, D Charles Hart ( David ) was the manager of the Toledo Brick Company. Clara Hart also dwelled here. In the 1920s, the mansion was used as the parish house of the Second Church of Christ, scientist. The home was demolished and is currently a parking lot. | |||||
