The Historic Old West End in Toledo, Ohio - Collingwood Boulevard



The Kenton Building, 1813 Collingwood and 2318 Monroe Street, replaced the former home of Wilburn Colburn of 1805 Collingwood. Designed as a commercial building, it also housed numerous apartments on its second floor. Preservationists opposed its demolition in 1973 and its replacement with a gas station by the Standard Oil Company.

Now demolished, 2247 Collingwood was the home of pioneer auto parts manufacturer Thomas W. Warner Jr. and his wife Nettie between 1914 and 1925, having moved to this mansion from #2 Harold Arms Terrace

Warner was the President and General Manager of the Warner Manufacturing Company. His company, which had been making gears and a vertical two-cylinder engine since 1901, was acquired by the Chevrolet Company of New York in 1916.
