Built in 1912, the home at 2561 Glenwood was built by contractor Julius Comte at a cost of $9,000 on lots 152 and 153 of the Baldwin Heights Addition. It was the residence of Allan Emerson in 1918. Mr. Emerson was the secretary of the S. M. Jones Company, suppliers for oil wells and gas engines. The 1911 Polk City Directory did not list this address but Mr. Emerson lived across Islington at 2601 Glenwood which had been built in 1902. | |||||
