The 1896 Polk City Directory listed Thomas Watters of Hanner & Watters as the resident at 2470 Maplewood Avenue.  The live-in domestic was Mary Wittmann.  Gottlob Lok, a teacher at Central High School, lived here in 1900.  The September 19, 1900 issue of the Toledo News-Bee reported thatt Karl Lok of 2470 Maplewood had correctly solved the Rebus Contest held by the newspaper but did not win a prize.  Dr. Edgar Greenfield, a physician, was the occupant of this address by 1910.
