626 Chatham Court was home to Alonzo Hoiles according to the 1910 Polk City Directory.  Mr. Hoiles was the department manager for the E. H. Close Realty Company.  William Bettis, the president and general manager of the Bettis Amusement Company which operated the Sunbeam Theatre at 445 Summit, lived here in 1911.  The 1918 directory listed conductor John Gamble as the resident of this house, while the 1921 directory listed John Higgins, the Director of Finance for the City of Toledo.  The 1924 directory has a listing for Mabel Higgins, the widow of John Higgins.
