2203 Hollywood

Here's an early view of homes on Hollywood Avenue. The first house on the left, 2203 Hollywood at West Bancroft, has been demolished.  Lizzie Hill was the live-in domestic here in 1896.  The 1900 Polk City Directory listed Charles Swartzbaugh, the president and treasurer of the Toledo Cooker Company.  He was still listed as living there in the 1921 directory.  Clifford Swartzbaugh boarded here in 1900 but the 1921 directory listed his residence as 2361 Lawrence, while Clark Swartzbaugh who also lived here in 1900 moved to 2317 Franklin by 1921.  By 1935, this home became known as Belle-Haven Home, operated by Belle DeKay.
