Built in 1910 at a cost of $4,000, the house at 604 Stratford Place was the work of the E. H. Close Realty Company.  The 1913 city directory listed H. Ernest Throne as the occupant of this house.  The 1918 directory listed Lillian Hoffman while in 1921 Jacob Baer was the occupant.  Mr. Baer sold clothes from his store at 905-07 Cherry Street.  Charles Moots and his wife Margaret Moots lived here in 1924.  Dr. Moots was a gynecologist with an office at 2485 Collingwood.
