2041 Parkwood was constructed in 1891.  The 1891 and the 1900 Polk city directories listed John Clarke as the resident and the president of the Toledo Plow Company.   Louise Pegler and Jane Gillman (1891),  Kate Loftus (1896), Anna Goers along with Delia Merrian (1900) and Alma Bruhn (1910) were listed in the city directories as live-in domestics for the Clarke family.  Lida Clarke, the widow of John Clarke was listed in the 1910 and 1921 city directories.  Harriet Clarke's name appeared as a boarder in 1896 and 1921.  The 1921 city directory listed Dorothy Clarke as a roomer.
