One of architect Harry Wachter's personal homes was located at 2302 Parkwood Avenue at Virginia Street. Mr. Wachter built this Shingle-style home in 1898. The 1900 Polk City Directory listed his business as Wachter, Hudson & Company-Architects. The Wachters' live-in domestic was Annie Dehring in 1900. The 1910 city directory listed Lacy Williams as the resident. His widow Gertrude continued to live here after his death. When it was duplexed in 1920, the gambrel roof was greatly altered. | |||||
