2221 Parkwood was constructed in 1889 for the sum of $4,000.  The 1891 Polk City Directory listed Daniel Thomas of Thomas & Hiett as the resident.  He passed away on May 6, 1896. The 1900 directory listed lawyer Eben Newton of Kinney & Newton as the resident with Beldon Munson as his coachman.   This circa 1914 photogrpah shows the home at 2221 Parkwood Avenue owned by Francis and Eleanor Bainbridge.  Mr. Bainbridge died April 10, 1918.  This photograph is from the jack Taylor Collection.
