According to the 1910 Polk City Directory, 2543 Scottwood was home to Edwin Avery, who was a draftsman with the DeVore-McGromley Company.  Rose Averry, the widow of Elias Avery, boarded here at that time.  Both the 1918 and 1921 city directories listed salesman Harvey Light as the occupant.  Pauline Light was listed as rooming there in 1918.
