According to the 1910 Polk City Directory, 2543 Scottwood was home to Edwin Avery, who was a draftsman with the DeVore-McGromley Company. Rose Averry, the widow of Elias Avery, boarded here at that time. Both the 1918 and 1921 city directories listed salesman Harvey Light as the occupant.
