The original 1903 Scottwood Flats, Scottwood Avenue at Monroe Street, was destroyed by an arson fire in 1979 during Toledo's police and fire strike.  Neighborhood activists appealed for the construction of a suitable in-fill apartment building to remind the public of the original.
