418 N. Erie was the site of the Juvenile Detention Home according to the 1910 Polk's Toledo Directory.  By 1924, the Juvenile Court Detention Home, the Toledo Humane Society and the offices of the Lucas County Childrens' Home shared this multi-story building.  The 1958 directory noted an address of 416 N. Erie as the Brown Building.  418 was the address for the Toledo Humane Society.
