The 1891 Polk City Directory listed the Hood Brothers Company as being located at 616 Adams.  Homer and Aaron Hood were manufacuturers' and publishers' agents.  By 1896 the firm was Hood Brothers Company which sold furniture at 424-26 Summit.  That company was still at that location in 1900.  Homer and Mary Hood lived at 1528 Huron in 1900 with their children Bertha, Mrytle and Herbert.  Aaron, his wife Luella and their children Margaret and Esther lived at 614 Bush in 1900.
