Here is an old photo of the Park Hotel on Knapp Street at Broadway. The hotel was built in 1909, near Union Station, primarily to accomodate railroaders and traveling salesmen. In later years, the quality of its clientele declined and it became, as one publication called it, "a $15.00 a night.....flophouse." The ancient heating system gave out and, on December 26, 2001, the Park closed its doors. | |||||
