Browning & Co., a vice-president of the Ohio Savings Bank & Trust Company, and by 1921, his business was listed as "oil lands".  The 1896 Polk City Directory listed Dora Adams and Clara Rhoades as the live-in domestics, while the 1900 directory listed John Davis as the family's coachman.
