William VanDeman, a dentist with his office at 1541 Nicholas Building, was the occupant of 23 Bronson Place according to the 1907 through 1924 Polk city directories.  Sarah VanDeman was his wife.  Their children listed in the 1920 Census included 21 year-old Harold, 19 year-old Elizabeth and 8 year-old William VanDeman Jr.  Son Harold VanDeman, a civil enigneer, was listed as a roomer in the 1924 directory.
