The 1900 Polk City Directory listed Lorenzo Shipman as the resident of 617 Acklin Avenue. Mr. Shipman was a salesman with the Lamson Brothers. His live-in domestic was Grace Cooper. The 1910 directory listed William Beach, a clerk with the Bostwick-Braun Company. Anna Platt lived here in 1918 along with Carrie Platt, a stenographer and Elizabeth Platt, a bookkeeper, who both roomed here while E. Lang, a salesman, was the occupant in 1921. Harry Lowe, a clerk, and his wife Emma lived here in 1924. | |||||
