Ashland & Collingwood_1919

Made of white glazed terra cotta surmounted by a green tile roof, the new 14 by 22 foot Paragon Refining Gasolene Station opened at Ashland and Collingwood Avenue in September of 1919.    A canopy, 24 by 22 feet, sheltered the driveway in front.  The double service drive had entrances and exits on both Collingwood and Ashland avenues.  The new filling station was the most elaborate in the city of Toledo and stood in favorable comparison to any in the United States.
