2330 Parkwood

The shingle-style house at 2339 Parkwood still stands much as it looks in this 1937 photograph.  Altered in 1914 (#1973), it was home in 1910 to Walter Hodge, assistant cashier at the First National Bank  The Hodges' live-in maid was Mary Stefan in 1910.  Hodge left Toledo by 1921.  The 1921 city directory listed Ashbel Newell, the president of the Toledo Teminal Railroad Company.  His biography appeared in Toledo & Lucas County Vol. 2 on page 39.  Harriet (King) Newell was Ashbel's wife.  Robert Hodge continued on as a roomer.
