2238 Scottwood-George Allen Home
 
Designed by architect David L. Stine and built in 1892 for the sum of $4,500, 2238 Scottwood was the home of George Allen of Allen & Parkhurst.  The 1900 Polk City Directory listed Robert Brinkerhoff whose business was newpaper advertising.  In 1900 the live-in domestic was Nellie Manion. The 1910 directory listed lawyer John Ormond of Ormond & Winters.  His biography appeared in Toledo & Lucas County Vol. 3 on page 599. Lucy (Jameson) was his wife. Robert Hixon was listed in 1911 and 1912. Also Charles Remy in 1912.  The 1918 resident was Elmer Miller, the president of the Miller Coal Company.  The Miller's domesitc was Clara Albach.
