The Lucas County Auditor's records listed the construction year as 1897 for the house at 2301 Parkwood. The address was once 602 Virginia, the home of Dr. Lyman Brewer Jr. His biography appeared in Maumee Valley,Toledo and the Sandusky Region Vol. 3 on page 10. His brother William boarded here. In 1896 Josie Harrington served as the live-in domestic, while Eva Andres was the maid in 1900 and 1910. The 1918 Polk City Directory listed Ira Gardner as the resident of this now-Parkwood home. The 1921 directory indicated that Mr. Gardner had an office at 109-10 Chamber of Commerce Building. Mills was the architect who planned this home. | |||||
